27 Golds, 30 Silvers & 23 Bronzes.....

In other words a very successful weekend for our athletes.

This years competition was held at Thurrock Harriers home track due to the track at Melbourne Stadium still not ready for use.

There was a huge turn out of Chelmsford athletes with over 100+ challenging for County glory over the two days.

The weather wasn't overly kind to us particularly on Saturday where there was a persistent chilly headwind on the back straight, this however didn't deter anyone from giving it their all.

There were several notable races one of which was the U15G 1500m Final with any one of five girls in with a very good chance of taking the title, it came down to a sprint finish with only 1 second between 1st, 2nd & 3rd and Ezrah Harrold claiming the title and Lottie Wilkin coming in 3rd.

There were so many incredible individual performances too, with Sam Wrights (U17M) name being at the top of the list. Sam won four straight Golds (100mH, long jump, high jump & shotput) and if that wasn't enough he picked up a Junior Commonwealth games qualifying distance in the Long jump and the County Championships overall achievement Award in the process. We had Tilly Hewitt (U15G) putting in superb medal winning performances across the two days earning herself three Golds and one Silver (hammer, shotput, discus & Javelin). And a special mention for Danny Berney who came 3rd in the Senior Men's Javelin, Danny suffering from Cerebral Palsy usually competes in ambulant events but this time round battled it out against able bodied competitors and bagged an amazing Bronze with an incredible performance.

Below is the full list of finishing positions in the individual event Finals.

Very well done to everyone who took part.
