The English Schools Cup Championship featuring the top schools athletic teams was staged at Melbourne Park Stadium and CAC had seven members representing their schools, oddly none of which were from Chelmsford.
Star performance by an Essex athlete came from our Ezra Harrold whose win in the 1500 metres in 4m 43.0s for the Fitzwimarc School earned her the highest point score in the junior girls whilst also helping the Fitzwimarc School to third team place. Also for Fitwimarc in the intermediate age group Charlie Pyner ran 12.3s in the 100 metres and in the high jump cleared 1.77m whilst Niamh Roberts ran the 1500m and achieved a personal best of 5m 10.1s. For Brentwood School Skye Lake contested the 100m (13.6s) and high jump (1.50m) Elizabeth MacCullum ran 26.7s for the 200metres and reached 4.23m in the long jump whilst Georgia Sawyer contested the javelin (25.80m). Finally Kwasi Prakah-Asante with 12.7s for the100m and the triple jump 12.82m played a leading spot in Westcllffe Schools second team place
